Tyrannical Trump throws a hissy fit after a bishop urged him to be kinder to LGBT+ people and immigrants

THE day after his vomit-inducing inauguration, laden with praise poured into the ears of the infantile President by sycophantic religious leaders, Donald “drill, baby, drill and fuck the environment” Trump was compelled to listen to a sermon that failed to laud him his second term of office as the Second Coming.

The volatile President reacted with fury at the words of bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, who spoke from the pulpit at an inaugural service at the Washington National Cathedral on January 21.

Budde urged Trump, aged 78 going on 13, to “have mercy” on migrants and LGBTQ children after he he signed executive orders to suspend the arrival of asylum seekers and expel undocumented migrants from the country. He had also decreed that only two sexes — male and female — will be recognised.

Budde serves as the spiritual leader for 86 Episcopal congregations and ten Episcopal schools in the Columbia district and four Maryland counties.

Trump responded by branding her “a Radical Left hard line Trump hater”, saying:

She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart.

And the lifelong bully demanded an apology.

Budde, in turn, reacted by effectively telling Trump to take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut.

She told Time magazine:

I am not going to apologise for asking for mercy for others.

In her interview with the magazine, Budde, whose sermon video went viral, said she has “heard from many people who are grateful that someone was willing to speak on their behalf” as well as those who “have said they do wish me dead, and that’s a little heartbreaking.”

“I hope that a message calling for dignity, respecting dignity, honesty, humility and kindness is resonating with people. I’m grateful for that. I’m saddened by the level of vitriol that it has evoked in others, and the intensity of it has been disheartening,” she said.

A day before the service I had completed a Cat & Mouse, a novel by acclaimed crime writer, James Patterson. In it he wrote of narcissists like Trump:

They are different. They exhibit little or no concern for anyone but themselves, though they sometimes pretend to care about others. True narcissists can’t empathize. They have an inflated sense of self, can become highly unstable if criticized, and feel they are entitled to special treatment. They are preoccupied with grandiose feelings of success, power, beauty, and love.

Trump’s already over-inflated ego got a fresh blast of hot air when Evangelist and frothing homophobe Franklin Graham, above, stepped up to the lectern at the inauguration ceremony to liken Trump’s leadership to that of the biblical figure Moses, praying, “You and you alone saved his life and raised him up with strength and power by your mighty hand.”

Five minutes were all I could take of this bullshit. Instead I turned to Netflix to immerse myself in very engaging anti-religious, anti-capitalist movie, Captain Fantastic.

  1. Trump gives no indication of ever experiencing rational thought. He seems to have a brain – if that’s what it is – permanently primed for spewing out vicious, cruel decisions. What sickens is that causing hurt, misery and terror, especially to the poor, disabled, ethnically vulnerable, seems to be entertaining for him.

He was voted into power by the poor, low paid, ill educated, badly housed and ignorant about politics. They thought he would be the one to improve their lives. What he is doing is depriving them, making their lives worse, and loading more money on to the USA billionaires. The suckers were mightily suckered and Trump doesn’t give a toss. He seems to enjoy demonstrating openly what he is doing to them.

He is a good Christian. But that gets him votes and hypocrisy and lies seem to be his strengths in the USA. Netanyaho is another good christian supported by Biden and Starmer, who has razed Palastine to the ground. There is a horrific photo in The Guardian today, They are all complicit and must be held accountable. At the moment they seem to be walking awake having killed and bombed and left someone else to deal with the consequences of their crimes.

  2. That female bishop was an utter embarrassment. To suggest that LGBT+ people need “mercy” is to submit to the power of the Christian right before it has even been contested. It’s spineless, mawkish, “turn the other cheek” Christian bullshit. No gay person with an ounce of self-esteem or integrity will stoop to apologising for their existence, but her soppy little sermon has largely been met with approval by the ranks of grovelling faggotry. Get up off your knees and fight back FFS.
